If you use Treated pine decking and treated pine bearers and joists you don’t need to screw your decking. I found using screw shank nails was more then enough to keep your decking boards straight.

I’ve never seen anyone use hardwood bearers and joists with treated pine decking. It’s a stupid combination and just a waste of money.

Even if you think the boards are going to fail after just a few short years, most people have see the treated boards that are made from pine last them for anywhere from ten to fifteen years.
