Our Origin Story
SJK Collective's journey began with its founder and Managing Director, Scott Kilkeary. Scott has always been involved in local businesses that aim to enhance the living conditions of Brisbane residents. His path began with managing a small business in Ashgrove, Brisbane. Later, he transitioned to the construction industry, rising to the position of foreman, overseeing projects in Brisbane's CBD and its suburbs. During this time, he gained valuable experience working with contractors from various trades, some highly professional and reliable, while others were less dependable. Witnessing the disparities and inconsistencies among contractors, Scott recognized the challenges faced by residents and businesses in South East Queensland when seeking electrical and other trade services. It was often a gamble to determine whether a contractor would be punctual, reliable, and professional. This realization sparked Scott's mission to provide a comprehensive and reliable range of electrical services to benefit the Brisbane community.
Our Founding
On June 1, 2013, "SJK Electrical" was established in Toowong, with Scott as its sole employee. Starting from modest beginnings, Scott worked tirelessly to build a reputation as a friendly, trustworthy, and consistently reliable electrical contractor. As our reputation grew, so did our team, leading to a move to larger headquarters in Indooroopilly. As our client base expanded further, we relocated to Jindalee and eventually settled in our current home in Sumner, featuring a spacious warehouse and office space. Today, our office houses a strong support team, and our team of experienced technicians and hard-working apprentices continues to grow. Throughout our expansion, SJK Collective's mantra has remained constant: to grow and better serve the Brisbane community while staying true to our roots and core values.
